Centering on Mums

Let’s face it, we’re all thinking about what we’re going to put on our dining room tables as the holidays approach. Now that we’re solidly in the midst of Fall – even if it doesn’t feel like it outside – it’s time to talk about our harvest decor. Along with polishing the silver and stocking the pantry, we need to think about how we’ll decorate our tables. We at Marco Island Florist Home & Gifts have an inkling of what you may be looking for, and it involves November’s official flower: the mum.

It’s almost an embarrassment of riches when it comes to flowers we can use for our Fall tables; there are so many gorgeous, harvest-hued flowers available. We think a luxe mix works best to signify the season’s abundance and to add a sumptuous element to the table. That’s why we think our Wrapped In Autumn Centerpiece works so well, especially since it centers on mums.

Here, two brown candles rise out of a gorgeous design of orange roses, lilies, and mini carnations. But the star players are the daisy chrysanthemums, with their green centers, and the burgundy button mums, which add a depth of color and texture. Set off by seeded eucalyptus, brown copper beech, and huckleberry, this arrangement is presented in a glazed stoneware bowl. It works for dinner parties, casual gatherings, and yes, Thanksgiving dinner. Or just let it be a marvelous centerpiece for any old dinner you eat during the season, we at Marco Island Florist Home & Gifts won’t judge!
