We here at Marco Island Florist are on top of all the trends, as much as we cherish the classic styles. We know that what lies ahead breathes new life into our floral work, even as our traditional faves keep it grounded. To that end, we welcome the insight that International Floral Distributors’ annual trend report brings. Among the four distinct design approaches identified, we’ve singled out one to focus on in this week’s blog. Why? Because it’s so much fun.
They call it Folk Art Reinvented, and that’s the perfect name for this upbeat, artistic approach to floral design. It’s fresh, dynamic and modern, making use of one of the other big trends on track for next year: bright, boldly-colored blooms rather than the muted hues we’ve seen in the last couple of years. This is hippie-meets-country chic, a blend of that free-form wildflower look with a more modern, pulled-together aesthetic. We think our Just For You bouquet demonstrates the style nicely.
This trend calls for Pop Art colors, modern glass vessels and an individualistic, artsy design. It’s folksy, but with polish, a chipper bundle of flowers with a contemporary edge. IFD featured buds in individual vases in groupings, too, signifying that this is a trend that has flexibility and is meant to reflect the individual spirit of the person who utilizes it. If you need help in that area, we’re of course here to help.
