Creative Designs & Fall Beauty in South Florida

Although this area may not experience autumn like others, many of us are transplanted from more northern climes. We remember with fondness the beautiful changing leaves, the pumpkin patches and hot apple cider. And although many of the traditions of fall do not apply to us here in South Florida, many still do – the anticipation of our favorite holidays and the warmth of family and friendship are still high on our list. And many of us still change our home decor to reflect the evolving seasons, and fall designs are among the most creative and whimsical. At Marco Island Florist Home & Gifts, we still incorporate the classic traditions of fall into our seasonal bouquets and arrangements. Trust us, you’ll feel all those familiar fall vibes when you decorate with these creative designs.

The quintessential fall design begins with seasonal flowers. Sunflowers, asters and mums are the classic autumn florals, as they bloom and thrive easily in cool fall temperatures. Although we may not experience those cooler temperatures, the flowers themselves are iconic in fall design. Colors such as rich burgundies, burnt oranges, and inviting golden yellows form the basis for seasonal creations which invoke fall memories.

When imagining creative designs for autumn, however, it may be the accents and artistic details that give us the most innovative textures and aesthetics. Derived from the traditions and customs of the harvest,  fall creations often include unexpected non-floral elements such as dried seed pods, or wheat stalks and cattails. Inspired by the cornucopia, fall florals may also include fruits of the harvest, such as gourds, apples, pears, or even artichokes or kale leaves.

Here’s a Design Hint

Finish off a fall design with natural, organic fibers which speak to the rustic influence of the outdoors – such as raffia bows or burlap covered vases. Baskets, mason jars, and tin buckets make gorgeous seasonal containers.

Whether you need a centerpiece or a hostess gift this fall, turn to the experts at Marco Island Florist Home & Gifts. We may not experience fall like everyone else, but we can certainly celebrate in beautiful style!
